The Abuser’s Continuous Manipulation

Feeling a bit frustrated with the ongoing manipulation from my abusive ex. It’s astonishing how he skillfully presents an image that deceives people into thinking he’s a caring individual – hence the inspiration for creating this website.

The current issue revolves around my daughter’s school. Last year, my ex-husband’s live-in girlfriend, who caused quite a stir, transferred to my daughter’s school. Things escalated when the school made parental rights changes, using four pages of an unsigned modified decree, which they weren’t legally entitled to do. My mother insisted they couldn’t, but they did, possibly because she was employed by the school. At that time, she wasn’t his wife.

The school astonishingly informed me that I had no rights to voice concerns. They asserted she had the same rights as any other parent, thanks to a power of attorney my ex-husband signed, granting her full parenting rights. So, additional rights were granted without adherence to the divorce decree. I had to go above the school to rectify this mess, and during the entire process (from December to March), no one bothered to inform or consult with me. Strange, right?

In a recent school meeting, I inquired about the implications of test results in case of a move. This weekend during visitation at my ex-husband’s house, my daughter mentioned her stepmother’s comment about it being sad if she moved to another school. To our surprise, we hadn’t discussed this possibility with her. It seems someone at the school leaked confidential information.

Now, it feels like we’re forced to consider moving her from that school. It’s incredibly unfair to my daughter that adults have created this situation. Until last year, I believed the school was a neutral environment for her, but now, my trust has been shaken. 😞
